We also had a fun and educational excursion for our kids at the shelter home at Kandy, where the kids went to a park and enjoyed lunch, went horseback riding and had lots of fun throughout the entire day.

Child action lanka is focused on Holistic education where children have a comprehensive education addressing the social, ethical and academic needs of the students and their development and growth. CAL focuses on education that is not just text book based but also more rounded,practical and ultimately employable. The process of learning itself alone has a great impact on children and making learning fun can improve a child's outlook of life. At our centers we focused on making learning fun through different programmes such as outings and days dedicated to learning different aspects. These activities included a “Pola” at the Kilinochchi Center, Yellow Day at the Galle center, A Fruits day at the Galle Center, Food day at the Kandy Center and Visit to the Peradeniya University with the Kids at the Kandy Center. 

The "pola" at the Kilinochchi center in particular was geared to provide the children with tools to start exploring their career goals. The children at the center enjoyed their day as little vendors busy selling their goods, making memories and learning about running a business.
