Child Development Coordinator – Child Protection (Kandy)
Responsibilities
- Support the specialist and support the overall Child Protection related program in Child Action Lanka
- Support Child Protection and Women-centered activities and programmes, psychological support programmes and other child protection-related activities across Child Action Lanka
- Provide technical support to ensure high quality of programming and services, exceeding minimum competencies for staff and minimum standards for activities
- Conduct and support ongoing monitoring of Protection activities, through frequent visits to projects and Child Development Centers, to ensure minimum standards for Protection and progress toward targets
Qualifications
- Postgraduate Diploma in Child Protection and Rights or any relevant field
- 2-3 years of experience working in the same capacity
- Excellent command of English and computer literacy
- Willingness to travel around the country
Child Development Coordinator – Health & Nutrition (Kandy)
Responsibilities
- Provide key technical leadership and knowledge in the development, implementation, monitoring and learning of health and nutrition projects and programs
- Ensure a high level of program quality and achievement of program objectives/results through effective monitoring, implementation, reporting, and learning
- Plan and conduct nutritional assessments and surveys following the nationally approved survey protocol and feed assessment results into proposals.
- Conducting research related to nutrition and health topics, such as food safety and preparation of meals that meet special dietary requirements
Qualifications
- BSc in Health Promotion or any relevant field, Postgraduate qualifications will be an added advantage
- 2-3 years of experience working in the same capacity
- Excellent command of English and computer literacy
- Willingness to travel around the country
Child Development Coordinator – Special Needs (Gampola)
Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of assessments and observations to determine the areas in which the student may need extra or modified educational services.
- Assessment in academic performance, behaviour, social development, or physical health.
- Develops an integrated plan for each child’s education by collaborating with the team, parents, psychologists, social workers, and other medical and head office staff.
- provides ongoing or follow-up assessments continually tracks progress and makes modifications.
- Develops, completes, and maintains all paperwork, reports and documentation mandated by local, and company guidelines, laws, and regulations.
- Maintains knowledge of special education teaching methods, research, and best practices through professional development and study.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education required or any relevant field.
- Appropriate state license or certification required.
- 2-3 years of experience working as a special education facilitator.
- Excellent command of English and computer literacy
- Willingness to travel more frequently
Child Development Coordinator – Colombo / Kilinochchi / Batticaloa
Responsibilities
- Engage with programmes under Child Protection, Health & Nutrition, Education and sustainability and facilitate them at the respective Child Development Center
- Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem while encouraging the children to interact with each other
- Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum mainly focused on activity-based learning
- Watch for signs of emotional or developmental problems in children and bring potential problems to the attention of parents or guardians and the respective Child Development Centre Head
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Social Work, Sociology, Community Development, International Development Studies, Psychology, Counselling, or any relevant field.
- 2-3 years’ experience in an NGO, Child Development, or Community development.
- Excellent command of English and computer literacy
Early Childhood Development Coordinator – Colombo / Batticaloa
Responsibilities
- Engage with programmes under Child Protection, Health & Nutrition, Education and sustainability and facilitate them at the respective Child Development Center
- Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media etc.) to teach children focusing on their skill development
- Organize activities so children can learn about the world, explore interests, and develop skills
- Develop schedules, timetables, routines to ensure children have enough physical activity and rest
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education / Diploma or Higher Diploma in Pre School or Montessori
- 2-3 years’ experience working in a Montessori/ Pre School
- Excellent command of English and computer literacy
