A shelter-home

During the worst of the Covid-19 pandemic, the CAL center in Kandy provided shelter to 10 street children who were in dire need of protection and a safe place to stay.

We have now provided these children with a home of their own. The move was filled with excitement and enthusiasm. Separate rooms have been allocated for boys and girls. They have individual beds, and a matron is at the home to care for their needs. It was a moment of profound joy for the children as they moved in to a safe and permanent place of living.

CAL continuously works towards supporting every child’s right to education by providing access to education at their centers, and for street children by approaching them with interactive learning modules through the Mobile school.
