Shelter for children

School closures became more regular due to the Covid-19 impact in Sri Lanka. These closures impact children seriously but even more significantly, children from under-privileged and marginalized families. They have no safe place to be at, and tend to roam the streets, unprotected and in danger, as these parents are left with no alternative but to continue daily work on the streets.

The Kandy center identified a select number of children who were in extreme need and converted the centre to a temporary place of shelter and safety. They were provided with meals, a place to sleep and stay in safety.
